Val di Fiemme, Dolomiti, Trentino

Daiano

Daiano rises up to 1190 meters above sea level in the north-west of Cavalese at the foot of Monte La Cugola (2077 m) and Mt Palone (2350 m), in a dominant position on a sunny location which rises gradually to the north with large prairies penetrating to the slopes of the mountain. The historic center begins west of Rio Dagostin and spreads to the upper part of the village towards the church. In recent years, the town has developed mainly eastwards along the routes to the nearby town of Varena which is literally connected. Of the three "Ville" surrounding Cavalese, Carano Varena and Daiano, the latter is the town at higher levels and the highest town in the Val di Fiemme and, given its location and height, the one that has the largest number of hours of sunshine in the valley.

Daiano

Daiano is a good starting point for trips to San Lugano, Fontanefredde for Passo Cugola along the Leitensteig trail to Mount Tolargo and the peaks of La Cugola and Il Palone, right up to the top reaching the peak of the Corno Nero.
The location and amount of roads and trails through the meadows at the foot of Mount Cugola makes Daiano a place full of trails for mountain biking, with the possibility of going up to Aguai and San Lugano to the west and Passo Lavazé to the north, along the beautiful wooded valley of Gambis, renowned for cross-country skiing.
