Varena-Passo Lavazè

Varena rises up to 1170 m above sea level north of Cavalese and the beginning of the Val di Gambis, on a series of terraces, sunny meadows which varies the panorama of the extensive northern side of the valley.
Varena is considered to be one of the resorts in Val di Fiemme, which has a long reign in tourism: in 800 it was already known for its hay baths, and the beneficial and therapeutic herbs of its pasture. The woods around Varena are characterised by dense mountain larch and are considered among the most beautiful in the Trentino region.
The Val di Gambis starts north of Varena establishing the connection to the Valley Obereggen through the Lavazé Pass, large plateau known as a center for winter cross-country skiing.

Varena-Passo Lavazè

The Pass Lavazé is located 8 km from Varena and it creates a beautiful natural environment and landscape in which hikers and winter sports enthusiasts can meet their expectations. Over 80 km of trails are a true paradise for lovers of cross-country and downhill skiing, including the ski lifts and Snow Park Lavazé which has 3 runs for bobsleigh, luge and inflatables with treadmill. In the summer, the pass is an ideal starting point for hiking and mountain biking in the dense network of roads and paths of the Forest of Ega, with the ability to reach beautiful mountain peaks like the Corno Nero (2439 m), the Corno Bianco (2317 m), the Pala di Santa (2488 m) and the southern Dolomite peaks of the Latemar range.
